On June 27th, 2023, McKechnie Family LIFE Home hosted AHS Illini Summer Academy & Community Health. The AHS Illini Summer Academy and Community Health show sophomores and juniors what a job could be like in this field if they plan on pursuing this major. They will learn what community health and public health look like in community practice, campus-level services, and our classes. This way there is a through line concerning our curriculum to relevant jobs. This meeting was intended to show the students some of the projects being held here at the LIFE Home and what students could possibly do as a job for this major. Dr. Harshal Mahajan led them through an overview of what goes on at the LIFE Home and what some of the robots do. The LIFE Home staff enjoyed sharing research initiatives that might inspire young brains. The information discussed during the tour included examples of our interdisciplinary research and innovations to support accessible solutions.
