On February 14th, 2023, McKechnie Family LIFE Home staff hosted Global Education and Training (GET) and Amideast. This meeting aimed to discuss the virtual reality technology, the research studies being conducted at the LIFE Home, and show what the assistive robots can do to the Amideast tour participants. This event was part of a 10-day study tour sponsored by Amideast, an American not-for-profit engaged in international education with funding from USAID. The study tour participants include Egyptian disability service center directors, university leaders, and ministry representatives. The LIFE Home staff enjoyed sharing research initiatives they might implement in their new disability service centers in Egypt. Information shared during the tour and discussion included examples of our interdisciplinary research to advance science and engineering innovations to support accessible solutions.
