LIFE Home Hosts HALO

On April 13th, 2023, McKechnie Family LIFE Home hosted HALO from Heartland Community College. The HALO program provides a higher education experience for students ages 18-28 with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities or other learning challenges. HALO intends to connect academic, social, recreational, and soft skills necessary for a successful transition to adulthood. This meeting was intended to discuss the virtual reality technology and research studies being conducted at the LIFE Home and how technologies could potentially help the students in the HALO program. The LIFE Home staff enjoyed sharing research initiatives they might implement in their HALO program. The information discussed during the tour included examples of our interdisciplinary research and innovations to support accessible solutions.
