Vikram Raj Nagoor Kani

Robotics Engineer | Autonomy & AI Enthusiast | Innovator in Assistive Technologies

Vikram is a Master of Engineering candidate in Autonomy and Robotics at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, passionate about bridging cutting-edge AI with physical robotic systems to solve real-world challenges. His work revolves around computer vision, sensor fusion, and distributed autonomous systems, with a focus on creating technologies that enhance human lives.

Currently, he’s interning at the McKechnie Family LIFE Home, where he develops interactive demos for the STRETCH robot to assist elderly individuals with household tasks in IoT-enabled environments. By integrating large language models (LLMs) and deep learning technology, he’s designing systems that enable seamless human-robot collaboration—like adaptive task planning and real-time decision-making—to improve quality of life and independence for seniors.

Vikram’s goal is to develop systems that combine the precision of robotics with the adaptability of AI, enabling smarter homes, safer autonomous vehicles, and tools that amplify human potential.
